Book Club in Baltimore

This month the Verde at Howard Square Apartment Blog is helping you start your own book club right here in Baltimore, MD! Cool off on a hot summer’s day by staying in with a good book. We hope that you get the chance to read, invite some friends over, and hold a book club discussion this August!

Tip One: Use Your Resources

There are plenty of resources to help you start your own book club this month. We recommend using Goodreads to rate books, read reviews, connect with authors, and stay in touch with the other members of your book club. Goodreads also allows you to create polls, so you can vote on which book to read next month!

Another awesome resource is Oprah’s Book Club. Oprah’s picks are usually top quality and plenty inspiring. We’re sure you’ll love the best sellers she picks each month.

We are also big fans of Book of the Month. Book of the Month allows you to choose a book to read after looking over their reviews, synopses, and more. Book of the Month has been choosing top-notch books for their members to read since 1926. You can learn more about them here.

Tip Two: Eat

Tip Three: Have Fun

There’s no point in hosting a book club if you’re not going to have fun! Make time for fun while you meet. Let everyone catch up, head to your favorite park for your meeting, or come up with a trivia game to help alleviate the boredom.
